NON-REGULATED SYSTEM
~ Used where length is short and no expansion or contraction
is expected
~ Tension regulator is unnecessary. To check the tension, a
tensionmeter is used
REGULATED SYSTEM ~ The cable tension is adjusted on both sides of the circuit by
means of turnbuckles until the correct reading is obtained
on the regulator scale ~ Scale reading depends on the ambient temperature ~ A tensionmeter is often used to check the tension regulator
accuracy
