END FITTINGS

~ Attached to the end of a cable to strengthen it where it is attached to another component.

~ Used most in aircraft manufacture are S-type swagged cable terminals.

HOW TO INSTALL THE TERMINAL?

1) Cut the cable and insert it into the end of terminal

2) Use either a hand or power-swaging tool to force the metal of the terminal down into the cable

~ The measurement is made of swaged terminal with a go/no-go gauge to ensure that a terminal is properly swaged

~ Swaging process must decrease the terminal's diameter to the extent that the go and no-go gauge passes over the swaged terminal but the no-go end does not
